Come and discover the amazing underwater world of the BVI. BVI Wreck Week gives you that opportunity to explore the incredible underwater wrecks and art reefs. From Willy T near Peter Island, Shark Planeo by Virgin Gorda, RMS Rhone near Salt Cay, Kodiak Queen near Virgin Gorda, Wreck Ally near Cooper Island and The Chikuzen near Tortola.
Learn about the rich seafaring history and traditions of the BVI, a chain of over 60 islands and cays, and get a chance to examine the current restoration projects. And it would not be BVI Wreck Week without pirate lore. Learn more about the infamous pirate Blackbeard’s time in the BVI.
Other activities include coastal clean-ups, youth group meet-ups, quizzes, and fundraisers. Highlights include a Tortola Sloop presentation and demonstrations by the BVI Heritage Dancers. BVI Wreck Week will culminate with the unveiling of an environmentally friendly giant turtle sculpture designed and created by Beyond the Reef.
It would not be BVI Wreck Week in the BVI without social events and cultural activities.
