Throughout October 2026, Martinique celebrates its Creole identity during Mwa Lang Kréyol La, a month-long cultural program dedicated to the island’s language, heritage, artistic traditions, and community. Organized by the Collectivité de Martinique, the celebration brings Creole culture into neighborhoods, cultural spaces, schools, libraries, and venues across the island.
The festival opens on October 14 in Fort-de-France, setting the stage for a program that explores the many ways Martinican Creole continues to shape the island’s identity.
