Antigua Carnival promises to be one of the hottest carnival’s this summer, bringing a high-energy explosion of music, mas, and revelry from July 25 to August 5. Dubbed ‘The Caribbean’s Greatest Summer Festival’, this year’s theme, ‘Itz A Vibe’, promises non-stop action for carnival lovers from across the globe. If you’ve ever dreamed of experiencing the ultimate Caribbean event, this is your chance!
From the moment the festival kicks off with T-Shirt Mas on July 26, the streets of Antigua will be alive with vibrant colors, pulsating soca beats, and an electric atmosphere. The Jaycees Queen Show (July 28) showcases grace and glamour, while the legendary Soca Monarch competition (August 3) brings the island’s top artists to battle it out for soca supremacy. On the Burning Flames 40th Anniversary Concert (July 30), however, the night will be a celebration of the iconic Antiguan band that has kept carnival pumping for decades.
For those who crave immersive cultural experiences, Watch Night (August 1) offers a soulful tribute to heritage with drumming, iron band performances, and messages of unity. Meanwhile, steelpan lovers will be in paradise during Panorama (August 2), where the sweet sounds of pan orchestras fill the air.
But the real magic of Antigua Carnival happens on the road. J’ouvert (August 4) kicks off before dawn, an epic street party drenched in paint, powder, and infectious energy. Then, the grand spectacle of Monday Mas and the Parade of Bands (August 4-5) takes over, showcasing jaw-dropping costumes, euphoric dancing, and unrelenting soca rhythms. It all climaxes with Last Lap (August 5)—one final, unforgettable street party in St. John’s City.
