Nevis Culturama Festival is an authentic Caribbean cultural experience that celebrates the emancipation of slaves in the 1830’s – a time marked as one of the most important milestones in the Island’s history. Culturama is Nevis’ form of carnival and is celebrated over 12 days.
The 2024 festival will mark the 50th anniversary of this major Caribbean event and is expected to be a packed schedule highlighting all aspects of Nevisian arts and culture through poetry nights, games, aquatic extravaganzas, craft and food fair, sports racing, Soca Monarch competitions, steel pan night and more. Other events to enjoy are fetes, pageants and a colourful street parade of spectacular costumes.
