Following the success of November’s St. Maarten Flavors, the St. Maarten Flavors Appeteaser Week promises more delightful degustations from top St. Maarten restaurants at affordable prices.
Starting on June 15th and lasting until the 24th, the week-long event promises high quality signature dishes from the island’s top restaurants, with course prices ranging from $49 for a three-course menu to $17 for a one-course menu paired with a specialty cocktail. A peek at the carte du jour would have your mouth watering with savory servings of duck confit with a red wine-lentil stew and potato puree, topped with duck demi-glace sauce and tastebud-tingling conch ceviche, julienned fresh local conchs served on a bed of crisp greens topped with mango salsa, micro-greens, avocado, and fried plantains.
Vegetarians will not miss out on the fun as restaurants offer delectable veggie options such as creole eggplant, diced eggplants with fresh herb and spices simmered in a bold rich creole sauce, and smoked cauliflower steak. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian alike can end their meals on a sweet note with fruity tropical desserts like pineapple tiramisu or cassava pudding with homemade guava-berry sauce.
The highlight of the week comes on Saturday, June 17th, as a selection of restaurants and vendors come together for the St. Maarten Flavors Feast. For an entrance fee of $25, feast-goers will be given five (5) tokens which can be used at any of the food stalls to sample signature dishes and cocktails. The event will run from noon to 9 PM and additional tokens can be purchased to enjoy more food and drinks on offer.
This summer, take your palate on a delectable journey and savor the piquant Caribbean cuisine that St. Maarten Flavors Appeteaser Week has to offer.
