A new regatta has been added to the Caribbean’s roster of exciting sailing events. The SVG Bougainvilla Cup is making its debut on April 13–15, 2025, in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Designed for junior and budding sailors, this three-day regatta blends friendly competition with an unforgettable exploration of the Grenadines’ most scenic islands. Glide across crystal-clear waters, navigate through lush cays, and soak in the stunning volcanic backdrops as you sail from St. Vincent to Union Island, Mayreau, and Canouan. At every stop, vibrant cultural celebrations await in the form of intoxicating island music, fresh seafood, and friendly camaraderie with fellow sailors.
This regatta is part of the newest SVG Sailing Week, a multi-island sailing adventure that takes participants beyond a single location and weaves through the region’s most spectacular islands and cays. It also comes before the legendary Bequia Easter Regatta on April 16th to 21st.
Beyond the thrilling races, participants and spectators can immerse themselves in an array of exciting activities throughout SVG Sailing Week. Adventurous souls can dive into the Grenadines’ vibrant marine life with snorkeling and scuba diving excursions at Tobago Cays, home to stunning coral reefs and sea turtles. For those who prefer to stay on land, hiking up La Soufrière volcano on St. Vincent offers breathtaking panoramic views and a rewarding challenge.
Leisure seekers can enjoy the laid-back charm of Mayreau’s Salt Whistle Bay, where soft white sands and swaying palms create the perfect setting for relaxation. In Union Island, the lively local markets and beachside bars offer a taste of the island’s rich culture, while Canouan’s luxurious resorts and spas provide a serene escape after an action-packed day on the water.
Whether you’re a sailing enthusiast or a first-timer looking for an exciting new challenge, the Bougainvilla Cup is your gateway to the magic of sailing in the Caribbean. Don’t just watch—be part of the adventure!
