The British Virgin Islands (BVI) celebrates the 70th Anniversary of the Emancipation Festival. A celebration of the territory’s ancestors’ freedom from colonialism and cultural history. During this time, the BVI showcases the culture and history of its people in grand style with extravaganzas of local and international music, pageants, Food Fairs, Rise & Shine Tramps (early morning street dancing), parades of colourful costumes, gospel celebrations and folklore presentations.
The BVI’s most important cultural showcase takes place July 14th through August 10th. 10-days of fun and frolic, a jammed packed calendar of activites.

August 1st – Traditional Tourch Light Procession | Big People Party

August 3rd – Cultural Food Fair | International Soca Night
August 4th – Miss British Virgin Islands Pageant | Rise And Shine Tramp
August 5th – August Monday Parade | East End | Long Look Festival Activities
August 7th – East End J’ouvert East End | Long Look Cultural Experience
August 8th – Carrot Bay Cultural Fiesta | Fiesherman’s Tournament
August 9th – Carrot Bay Cultural Fiesta | Cultural Games (Donkey Races, Plait Pole, Lime & Spoon Races)
