This Charles Town Maroon conference is a gathering of Jamaica’s indigenous peoples, and which aims to highlight and preserve Maroon history and traditions. It offers a unique combination of scholarly panels and cultural events. The conference brings Maroons and indigenous peoples representatives from other countries together with scholars and locals in an effort to examine the ways their legacies have endured, creolised, and resonated in the world.
